Bringing together individuals, businesses and educational institutions to find solutions to challenges for the agriculture and ecotourism sectors

In 2019, the Town of Lincoln, empowered by Spark, brought Ontario’s first AgriTech Hackathon to Niagara.  The goal of this initiative was to bring businesses, education, technology and communities together to take part in solving issues affecting the modern agricultural, horticultural and eco-tourism sectors.  This was completed through the use of technology and participation from both local teams and teams from across the Province of Ontario for cash prizes and business exposure.

Lincoln is located in the heart of the Niagara region, with one of the most diverse economies in Niagara. Lincoln serves the communities of Beamsville, Vineland, Jordan, Campden, Tintern, and Rockway. Our towns and villages are filled with over 50 wineries, fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, heritage sites, and natural attractions such as the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario.

An Agricultural Centre of Excellence, Lincoln has the highest number of farms in all of Niagara, supporting more than 3,400 jobs.

Our farms account for $13 of every $100 in gross farm receipts in the Golden Horseshoe while representing only 3% of the region’s farmland acreage.

Lincoln has become synonymous with grape growing and wine by virtue of its dominant position in Ontario’s $2.3 billion grape and wine industry.
